1st International Competition on

Automated Program Repair

shaping the next generation of automated program repair technology

The inaugural International Competition on Program Repair (APR-COMP 2024) will be held starting from 17th July 2023. APR-COMP 2024 will be part of the Automated Program Repair (APR) Workshop 2024, which is co-located with the 46th International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE) 2024. The APR Workshop will include a session to present the competitors and results of the competition.

Researchers from both academia and industry are invited to submit their repair tools to the Repair Competition 2024.

Motivation

APR is a rapidly developing technology aiming to improve developer productivity by automatically fixing errors in software programs. APR has expanded into various tasks in Software Engineering including but not limited to fixing functional errors, repairing security vulnerabilities, improving software performances, assisting educators in teaching programming languages and collateral evolution of software systems. Apart from developing new techniques and better heuristics, refined implementation techniques are vital for the wider adoption of APR in practice.

To support the rapid advancement of APR technology, we want to motivate the researcher to present their work in a competitive environment which is presented to a broader audience. Incorporating new challenges, fostering comparability and continuously improving set of standard benchmarks are some of the key objectives of the competition.
